Stephanie McMahon resigned and left the company following McMahon’s return. Later, Vince McMahon was unanimously elected to the position of Executive Chairman.
According to a new report from PWInsider, Stephanie and Triple H (aka Paul Levesque) were opposed to the sale of the company. It could be one of the reasons Stephanie resigned and left WWE, though neither party has stated anything to that effect. Currently, Nick Khan is the company’s sole CEO, with Vince McMahon serving as Executive Chairman. It will be interesting to see if Triple H, the current Chief Content Officer, follows Stephanie McMahon’s lead. Several potential buyers, including Disney, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, and AEW owners Shahid and Tony Khan, have been identified as potential buyers for the sports entertainment juggernaut.
