
The Nigerian football legend is set to return to the screen more than a decade after hanging up his boots.
Nigerian soccer legend Austin Okocha will star in Showmax’s first animated series, Jay Jay: The Chosen One.
The 13-episode series, based on his childhood in Nigeria, will be voiced by a cast of Nigerian actors led by Prince Unigwe, who will play Jay Jay.
Okocha is excited about the show and feels honored that it will reimagine his childhood.
Augustine, an 11-year-old boy, dreams of playing football with his motley crew of friends.
Augustine has a passion for the animal kingdom, which grants him superpowers in exchange for his fight against illegal poaching.
Okocha has thanked Showmax and the production team for their efforts in bringing his animated series to life.

He believes the series will inspire young children who want to be football players and bring back fond memories from his childhood. He’s ecstatic about the show and can’t wait for people to see it.
