Lionel Messi has been offered a lucrative deal by Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to lure the 34-year-old to France, according to AS.
Last summer, Messi attempted to leave the Nou Camp but was forced to back out due to an exit clause in his contract.
However, after his contract with the club expired on June 30, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner became a free agent.
As a result, PSG is aiming to take advantage of the situation.
Messi is said to have agreed to a new two-year contract with Barcelona.
PSG, on the other hand, wants to sabotage the process because the player has yet to put pen to paper.
If Messi signs a new contract with Barcelona, the club will reportedly have to free up £170 million in salary.
The French club hopes that the hefty contract will entice the 34-year-old to return to Ligue 1 next season.
