Alhaji Zaharadden Abubakar, Chairman of Gwaram Local Government Area in Jigawa State, has given all prostitutes 30 days to leave the area.
Abubakar frowned upon the activities of commercial sex workers and disclosed that he has a plan to combat immorality in the local government as he received a delegation from Sara community, a popular weekly market, to his office.
He then issued an order to all commercial sex workers in the area to report the names of their suitors to the local government authority before the deadline passed.
Non-local sex workers will be repatriated to their home states, while local sex workers who are willing to give up the trade will have their wedding expenses covered by the local government.
Abubakar announces closure of all clubs and beer joints in the local government, as well as the deployment of police and other security forces to arrest violators.
