Mr Ibu, popular actor whose real name is John Okafor has been killed by death hoax. Rumor are circulating across various social media that the veteran actor has passed away.

This news about John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu is not true. However, he is sick and currently undergoing intensive care in the hospital.

Mr Ibu Cries Out, “I don’t want my leg to be cut off”

In a widely circulated video shared on his official Instagram account, the actor reached out to his followers, appealing for assistance and requesting their prayers.

In a recent statement, Mr. Ibu revealed that he has been hospitalised for several weeks. He shared that the doctors have informed him of a potential course of action, which may involve the amputation of his leg if their next plan does not yield positive results.

“I have been down for so many weeks. All I am hoping for Is your prayers and assistance, as I speak to you I am still lying down at the hospital. The medical director of this hospital said that the best solution is in case his new idea doesn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg.

“Just see me, if they cut off my leg where will I go from here? Please, be in prayers for me, talk to God Almighty, I don’t want my leg to be cut off, please. Thank you so much, God bless,” the actor said.

Also speaking in the video, his daughter, Jasmine Okafor, appealed to individuals and organisations to fly the actor abroad as he is not getting any better in what she described as “one of the best private facilities in Lagos.”

She said, “As a family, we want to appeal that at this point, people should come to Daddy’s aid and rescue; for the past two weeks, Daddy has been very down, so we took him to the hospital. I have been sorting the bills, thinking I can do it alone. We have been doing everything humanly possible; as a family, we felt it was something we could do on our own for him to be fine, but he is not getting any better.

“He is not getting better; some days, it seems as if he is getting better; some days, it seems like it is getting worse. We are at one of the best private medical facilities in Lagos, and they want to refer us to another hospital because he is not getting better here.”

In a heartfelt video, the wife of the actor passionately expressed her concerns and pleaded for help to rescue her husband from his current predicament.

Renowned Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu, known for his prolific appearances in numerous Nigerian film productions, recently marked his 62nd birthday while confined to a hospital bed.

In an impressive career spanning over several years, the talented actor has graced the screens of Nollywood in a staggering number of over 200 films. Notably, he made a mark with his role in the 2004 film “Mr. Ibu” and its sequel “Mr. Ibu and His Son,” which have become synonymous with his name.
