Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige said he won’t campaign for any of the frontline presidential candidates, including his kinsman, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, as well as the flag bearer of his party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Ngige stated this at his hometown, Alor, Idemili South local government area, Anambra State, during the annual distribution of Christmas largesse by his Chris Ngige Foundation to APC members, the indigent, widows and aged persons.

“Let the Nigerian people vote wisely,” he said. Let Nigerians examine them and their manifestos and vote based on what is best for the country. I’m not going to go around campaigning for candidate A, B, or C. That is not something I will do. It is not my specialty. I don’t go from one party to the next. But, besides, I have a conscience, and I’m going to protect it and make sure I don’t hurt it.”
The minister, on the other hand, referred to Obi as his brother, claiming that he (Ngige) is aware of the Labaour Party candidate’s leadership potential.

“Peter Obi of the Labour Party is my brother, his Local Government is next to mine here, my successor, and everything,” he explained. I’m too familiar with him. I am aware of his capabilities.”
The minister advised Nigerians to vote for the best candidate who can work for them after scrutinizing their manifestos and track records.
“The four frontrunners are good candidates with relevant experience in governance at the federal and state levels,” he said.
“They are my friends, and I am familiar with them. They have previously collaborated with me in some capacity.
