The National Examinations Council (NECO) has published the results of the 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Prof. Dantani Wushishi, NECO Registrar, announced the results on Thursday at the NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
In addition to the findings, Wushishi stated that the council blacklisted 29 supervisors for alleged involvement in various malpractice offenses.
He also stated that four schools were recommended for de-recognition for two years due to repeated violations.
Meanwhile, Wushishi revealed that the council saw a decrease in malpractice during the 2022 internal senior school certificate examinations compared to previous years.
According to him, there was a significant decrease in examination malpractice.
“In the area of malpractices, 13, 595 were caught as opposed to 20, 003 in the year 2021, indicating a significant decrease in the number of malpractices cases.”
“Twenty-nine supervisors were blacklisted for offenses ranging from poor supervision to insult and aiding and abetting during examinations.”
Dantani stated that 1, 209, 703 candidates registered for the examinations, while 1, 198, 412 took the exam.

He went on to say that the number of candidates who received five credits or higher, including English Language and Mathematics, was 727, 864, or 60.74 percent.

Dantani stated that 1, 209, 703 candidates registered for the examinations, while 1, 198, 412 took the exam.
He went on to say that the number of candidates who received five credits or higher, including English Language and Mathematics, was 727, 864, or 60.74 percent.
Dantani also stated that there are 1, 031 candidates with special needs, including 98 with albinism, 177 with autism, 574 with hearing impairments, and 107 with visual impairments.
