Two suspects arrested over rape and murder of 24-year-old prospective corps member in Benue

Two suspects have been arrested by the Benue State Police Command in connection with the rape and murder of Joy Onoh, 24, in Makurdi, the state capital.

Before her tragic death, Onoh, a graduate of Benue State University, Makurdi, was awaiting a call-up letter from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Her body was discovered in a bush or around the Federal Low Cost Estate in North Bank, in Makurdi area, last Wednesday.

According to Punch, the two suspects were arrested at a house close to where the deceased’s remains were found.

According to one source, the suspects were arrested with the help of residents who gave information about their activities on the day Joy was killed.

“One thing that led them to the residence was the foot prints of people who were tracked to the house, and you know it rained in the early hours of the day when the lady’s body was discovered,” the insider said.

The two suspects are currently being questioned by the police, according to reliable sources.

The arrest of the suspects was also confirmed by Agile-Bem Jabez Ordedoo, Special Assistant to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Media.
