Abdulkareem Muhammed, 37, is arrested with 32 litres of fuel concealed in three polythene bags and a travel bag by the Katsina State Police Command.
SP Gambo Isah, the command’s spokesman, who paraded the suspect in front of reporters at the Command Headquarters on Tuesday, said he was arrested by officers on patrol along the Katsina-Jibiya road.
According to the PPRO, the suspect appeared to be traveling with clothes in a travel bag he was carrying, but officers discovered 3 polythene bags containing 32 litres of petrol while in an inspection.
The outcome, according to SP Isah, is part of the enforcement of the security challenges containment order, which bans the sales of petrol in Jerry cans and polythene bags.
He went on to say that more suspects were arrested and charged in court for using the Katsina – Jibiya road to carry petrol to bandits in the forests.

The suspect, on the other hand, denied that the products were meant for bandits and were instead meant for resale in his village.
He also asked for forgiveness, promised to quit if he was let off the hook.
