Authorities in Hawaii have arrested Lazar Hayward, a former NBA player, when he attempted to enter the US island using forged Covid-19 vaccination documents.
Officials in Hawaii have made it a mandatory for unvaccinated visitors to present documents indicating that they have tested negative for COVID within the last 72 hours. If they do not have that test, they must first quarantine on the island for ten days before patronizing anywhere.
.Hayward, 34, was with Raven Randle, 33, when he arrived at the Lihue Airport on the island of Kauai, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
They flew from Los Angeles to Hawaii and attempted to use the airport’s Safe Travels system to upload false vaccination documents.
Hayward and Randle were reportedly “arrested on allegations of unsworn falsification” when their paperwork was detected.
As of press time, the penalty the two will face is uncertain.
