After suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, Christian Eriksen is expected to return to Inter Milan for medical checks next week before deciding whether or not he can return to football.
During Denmark’s opening game against Finland, the midfielder collapsed and needs urgent CPR from pitch-side medics, who were able to resuscitate him.
After being released from the hospital last month, the 29-year-old has been recovering in Copenhagen, but Sky Italia reports that he will return to Inter’s training base next week.
Eriksen will have new and accurate heart checks to determine the cause of his cardiac arrest, according to the report.
Following the medical examinations, they will decide their next steps and whether or not he will be able to play football anymore.
Eriksen had an implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) placed in his chest after his cardiac arrest to control any subsequent irregularities in his heartbeat.
