Boko Haram and ISWAP Insurgents surrender to Nigerian troops in Bama Local Government – (photos)

 


Eight Boko Haram insurgents and their families, comprising 10 adult females and 22 children, surrendered to troops at Ruwaza village in Borno state’s Bama Local Government Area.


In a related development, troops from the Forward Operational Base (FOB) operating along the Bocobs-Bama route arrested 20 Boko Haram members and their families when they surrendered to troops in Nbewa village, also in Borno state’s Bama Local Government Area. The insurgents’ surrendering families comprised 15 adult females and 26 children.

Following ongoing intense clearance operations by troops in the general areas, the suspects all surrendered to the troops on July 29, 2021, during clearance operations in the areas.

The children among the surrendering suspects have received polio vaccinations, while the adult and female suspects who have been documented and vetted are currently be interrogated.


During a fighting patrol all along Molai-Damboa Road, troops of 73 Battalion, Forward Operating Base (FOB), in collaboration with a joint team of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hunters, intercepted a Boko Haram Terrorists Logisitics Supplier.

When the combined team was alerted, they quickly mobilized and stormed the location, arresting the suspect as he finalized plans to deliver logistics to the militants in the forest.

A vehicle, four jerry cans of 30 liters of PMS, one 4 liter gallon of engine oil, one motorcycle pump, one oil treatment, one torch light, one mosquito net, two praying mats, two blankets, four Spanners, ten packets of 1.5v battery, and three dozens of diamond rubber solution were among the items recovered from the suspect. Other items include five chocolate packets, five seasoning packets, and various measurements of other items.
