Tanker explosion in Apa

An oil tanker carrying fuel (Premium Motor Spirit, PMS) burst 3 meters from the center of Ugbokpo, Apa LGaa’s headquarters in Benue State.

This comes just a few weeks after two similar explosions in Oshigbudu, Agatu LGA, killed 11 persons and injured seven more.

Both Apa and Agatu share a border and are home to the freshly constructed Apa-Agatu Bridge.

The source of the constant explosions along the route is still unknown, however experts suggest it could be due to the road’s narrowness and multiple severe bends.

The flame is still blazing as of the time of reporting this story, with no reports of casualties and no responses from the Federal Road Safety Commission or the police.
